I imagined it would be difficult to comprehend a Chinese instrument, considering I share no genetic or cultural relation to China, but Teacher Liu truly understood the instrument and its music. It was no problem for her to teach me and to allow me to understand an instrument that was very new to me. In the entire time I was her student, I never misunderstood her lectures. I never questioned her knowledge. I never doubted my decision to learn under Teacher Liu. Now, at 20 years old, I'm in China. Studying Guzheng Perfomance in the Nanjing University of Arts. Teacher Liu was highly influential and essential to me as a teacher. Without her guidance, I might not be here in Nanjing studying this profoundly beautiful instrument."

I started learning guzheng from Melody the first week of January and have loved every moment of it. She has helped me discover my love for this instrument and for music in general. I not only improved technique-wise but also learned a lot of music theory which I was not familiar with before. If you are deciding whether or not to start playing I suggest you go for it. I am so grateful for my time with Melody and I would recommend her lessons to anyone!

I am very lucky to have Melody as my guzheng instructor. I have taken classes with her for almost 1.5 years and my technique has improved so much! Melody is super patient and she makes it a point in every of my classes that I don't develop bad habits along the way. Only a teacher with such deep passion in music will pay these kind detailed attention in her student's learning curve. Btw, Melody is also super talented in different musical pieces as well!

We love Ms. Melody. She is simply the best. Ms. Melody is a very patient and kind teacher. I have watched my 2 children flourished under her care and teaching. My daughter, then 7 year old, started learning to play the guzheng early last year, and Ms Melody has provided ample opportunities for recitals and performance for my daughter, which boost her stage presence confidence to a large extent. Inspired by his sister, and taking a liking to Ms Melody, my younger son started learning to play the guzheng when he was 6 years old late last year. I have seen him progress immensely for a child his age. This would not have been possible had it not been for the talented and professional skills that Ms Melody possesses. I am proud of what my 2 young children have accomplished under Ms Melody's meticulous guidance. It's a set of skills that they will always remember.
